Beautiful roads and the “Ass Pole.”

Don’t worry… it says it on the other side too.

winter

OK… Time for a snow ride.

I’ve started a new tradition: M.F.T.R.O.T.W.

Every Sunday, for the past couple weeks, I have been making one big meal which I am capable of eating for lunch and dinner for the rest of the week… hence: M.F.T.R.O.T.W. (Meals For The Rest Of The Week).  The last couple weeks it was some oh so good chili and this week it is ohh so good soup.

Here’s how I made my soup this week (because I know you are curious):
1) Cook 3 chicken breasts and then slice it into chunks
2) Cut up onions (I used 3)
3) Cut up carrots (I used a lot)
4) Cut up other stuff (Peppers, Celery, Potatoes)
5) Add some tortellini
6) Add a ton of broth
7) Boil it… for like an hour.
8 ) Add some spinach
9) Eat.

It’s pretty good stuff.

What will it be next weekend?  Stay tuned.

I’m working on the foundation now.  It’s going to be a strong foundation too built with Weights, Endurance, Force, Speed, and Muscular Endurance training.  Sounds kind of complicated but it all basically boils down to riding a lot, riding easy, spinning my legs really fast at times, and staying seated.

This is going to be my first year with a structured training plan… I even have a week by week playbook already thrown together and also have a training journal.  One of my goals of the season is to simply follow this training plan.  Wish me luck.  Oh yea… I’m shooting for around 600 training hours. I feel like that is a reasonable amount where most weeks will be around 13 and under.

I’ve been doing my best to get outside and ride since I’ve been back at school.  Yesterday was nice.  The sun was out and most of the roads were clear of snow and puddles.  I did get chased by a little dog though… and it scared the crap out of me.  It forced me to knock the chain up into the big ring and out sprint the son of a b*tch (pun intended) until it fell back.  At least I didn’t have to resort to kickin’ it.

OK, I’ve gotta make some soup.  Check back lata.

New Shades…

Nuts.  Today I bought my last round of textbooks EVAR.  I am pretty excited though… one of my classes is about writing for “new media” aka the internet.  One of the books is about blogging… umm yea… this class is going to be awesome.  Ha, maybe the point of this post is to merely suck up to my future teacher in case she ever stumbles upon this blog.  I have high expectations for the class and maybe it will allow me more time to post on here.  I flipped through the other book for the class too… and it seems like I have a fairly solid grasp of it… because it’s about the internet… and content… and what users like and look for.  I’m excited

Oh and before I forget… head on over to chrisjourney.com to help support Juice Box.  He asked me to throw a site together for his ride from FL to MA in order to raise awareness and money for the cure of Amyloidosis, which his mom has.  We got the site up and running last night so go check it out.

….of a Stairmaster.

Sorry, Ive been Tweeting much more than blogging lately.

I’ll get back into rhythem when I get back to school and have awesome stuff to talk about.

Oh yea.  Rollin’ steady with a gear.  I figured I’d change my Stumpy into a single speed too since Ive been riding this guy all over the place.  I have yet to ride it… Gotta get out this weekend…

Ive also been building wheels… aka taking old crappy rusty ones apart and re-building them.  I’m getting the  hang of it… I dont want to buy pre made wheels anymore… I want to make them myself.

Elvis was born today.

If he were still around… he would have be honored to have been born on the same day as me.

I expect no less than 42 comments on this post wishing me a Happy Birthday.

Of course, I’ll be lucky if I get one…

I just want to show my parents that I really do have friends… even if they are on the interweb.

I have work at 8.  It’s also payday.  WOOOO WHOOOOO!!
