December. Nuts. This month has been nuts. Like super nutty.
Lots of pictures will be used in this post too…
The month began with dishes. Lots of dishes. Very few of them were mine… but it seems that I am the one who ends up doing them anyway. It’s funny what happens when I stop doing them. Oh yea. The same thing happens with the trash too.
I would often go single speeding at the local pickle park and put bananas in my shoes for the ride over.
I tried to grow a beard again… but that failed.
I raced my bike twice in one weekend in December to wrap up a season of 5 races.
I did a fun ride with RI NEMBA. I donated pickles at the pickle park… that was ironic. I also ate some damn good apple crisp after the ride.
I baked a huge cake from scratch with a super duper biking friend from school. We ate it all in two days… including the day we made it.
I spent a lot of time editing while trying to study for exams.
I packed my car for vacation.
I drove a tractor across town minutes away from the snow storm. It was cold.
I started the Bad Brad Jurga Super Awesome Training Program ( BBJSATP for short). When I went to school in September I was 158 lbs. I am now just shy of 180. Something has gotta change.
And that’s about it.
Oh and there is this. Read the 9th comment. It will be worth it. Trust me.
Roar.
Lots going on. So I guess I shall share. Hold on.
I have a new phone number. Yes I know I could have kept it but due to weird circumstances and my desire to get a new phone I was forced to cancel my old contract and hop onto my families new family plan… which is awesome.
So here ya go.
You can reach me at: 978 – 602 – 7897
Feel free to e-mail me too because that too will get sent to my phone.
I love my new phone.
Yadda yadda yadda.
I’m on “vacation” now. Vacation means I don’t go to school, study, or pull all nighters. Vacation also means that I work an 8 – 5 job maintaining websites and designing tons of stuff. It’s pretty cool because today lots of the packaging which I designed (artwork and general design) over the summer was now arriving… like actual products which will be shipped all over the world. It’s pretty awesome.
I hiked Wawa yesterday. Holy crap. This thing usually takes 45-55 min to hike up… It took me and my brother about 2.5 for our first trip up. The backside of the mountain had tons of fallen debris from the ice storm a couple weeks ago. Trees and branches scattered the backside of the Mt. along with a fresh 1.5 feet of snow, which made hiking fast nearly impossible. It was like doing the limbo every 10 seconds with a board strapped to your back which would keep on hitting the pole. Oh yea… and that 2.5 hours of hiking up also includes the time we spent hiking on the road… because after awhile… we just said eff the woods. We were going nowhere.
The snow on the way down though was great so we decided to head back up again. This time we took another route which involved part of a ski trail, some bush whacking, almost being run over by one of the ski resorts caterpillar snow beasts, and then hiking up the Down Road. We arrived at the summit in just under an hour. That’s more how I like it. I brought my camera… but forgot my battery (which was still charging when I wanted to begin taking pictures).
I’ve been drinking a lot of eggnog. Not spiked.
Oh and I can’t forget to promote this. You should come. It’s $10 for food, beer, mingling, and watching a 20 min vid which I threw together during my exam week. It will be fun. Chances are that if you read this… and know me… you will be in it.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve Eve.
I’m done x-mass shopping.
I’ve been on the rollers a few times already.
Oh, it snowed a ton and I want mooooore.
Mmhmm.
You know it’s bad when:
“The women from the Minuteman Road Club had a great Women’s B race taking the top three places both days with Anna Barensfeld (1st and 1st), Christina Tamilio (3rd and 2nd), and Allison Snooks (2nd and 3rd).
In fact, between the Goguens, the B women, and all of the guys in the races, MRC is one powerful bike racing club!
Speaking of the MRC, did you know that Jurga is Polish for “don’t go so slow”. Yell it whenever he goes by.”
Thank you Paul the announcer.
Im glad that my team is a “powerful bike racing club”… and then there is me!
Awesome
NBX day 1…
HA. That was funny. I didn’t get lapped but I PULLED MYSELF ON THE LAST LAP because I rode up half the 1st sand pit… right quad cramped… and I froze…. stuck there. A race official asked if I was ok after I didn’t move for 10 seconds… I told her I would move when I could.
Then fast boys and girls were coming up from behind me to pre ride the course… The race official was telling them that they couldn’t pass me. Crap. All I could picture was me trying to ride the course with my legs cramping and moving at the speed of smell for a lap. Ummm… no. That was not gonna happen. I pulled off of the course and let them go.
So I officially wasn’t lapped and have a DNF next to my name.
I had an awesome day.
Is it snowing yet?
Here we go.
Hope you dig this one… I do.
I also put quite a bit of time into it… and this quick 5.5 min thingy basically sums up the better shots I had taken over this season. This is essentially my Final Project for my field production class.
The teacher probably won’t understand it… but that’s the least of my concerns. I like it and I’m sure 4 or 5 of you will too. That’s what matters.
It’s in wide screen… so it’s not distorted… but for some reason the color was kinda washed out when I exported it.
Sorry there are lots of MRC’ers in here for all you non MRC’ers. Join the team if you wanna be on the next one.
Without further adu (or however the hell you spell it), I present you with OMG OMG NEW ENGLAND CYCLOCROSS LIKE TOTALLYYYYY
Yes, Meard Productions… deal with it. Meards RULE.
… actually I just got kicked out of the editing suite of my school. After I got out of my night class at 9, I headed over to edit my final project together for my field production class. Apparently, it closes at 12. After 3 hours of editing I managed to complete just under 3 min of finished product. Our project only has to be 5-6 min long… so another 3 hours and I should be done… But then I start working on the loooong one which will be shown at JH.
nuts
Wow. Lots going on.
Spent 5 hours capturing and editing some film… I have a “rough” ten minutes completed. There will he a showing at John Harvard’s eventually… stay tuned.
Lots of school work/ presentations/ and tests as this semester is wrapping up.
Finalizing some artwork for a bunch of stuff for All-Star over the next couple days so that we can get it sent out to the printers.
I’m in class right now.
Trying to research jobs when I can.
Still developing sites for my school. The departments want meto generate the content (which make little to no sense because i know nothing in depth about the departments… however they like what I am doing in terms of layouts and also my writing style… so things are going well).
I’m coming out of retirement and “racing” this weekend. Should be interesting…
