Not to be a dick or anything… but I love it when I get back a test where the class average was a 65% and I score a 94%. Just love it
Im going to put it on my fridge.
Now watch THIS
Where were the other costumes?!?! I was really hoping to see more besides me…
A beard and booty shorts are great fun to race in. Try it. You will not be disappointed. Although, I feel that the beard severely increased wind resistance and weakened my performance. I will even go as far as saying that if I had shaved my face before the race I would have won. No doubt about it (that’s a joke).
I placed 18th (or 19th… I forget. But 18th is better than 19th so let’s go with that) and am very happy since the cat 4 field had about a million other racers. The Canton ‘Cross course is as follows: Road, right turn onto double track, rock, hole, right turn, left turn, barriers, woods, field, muddy double track, paved winding path, fast little uphill, steep downhill, right turn, barriers, horses, horse poop, winding turns, run up, paved track and field thing, more turns, barriers, and repeat. Fun Stuff. A little too roady for me though. I think that they should have added something a little more technical… like a shark tank that you have to swim across or even an alligator pit. Now that would have been sick!
Some things that I learned over the weekend:
· Girls love shaved legs
· I look great in short shorts
· If you roll over dog crap on your cross bike it’s almost impossible to get out of the treads
· My new tires suck (got the pair on ebay for $30)
· I still need to work on my start
· Cort can fly
· Gary is too good for the Cat 4’s now too and my placings should increase by at least one position

I took a few pics at the races… maybe you’re in one?
…nothing at all this week. Well, I’ve ran and lifted a few times… but haven’t had time to head out on a nice long ride. It’s been since Monday. Three days off the bike feels like two weeks off the bike. Tomorrow, I’m planning on doing a ‘cross skills ride at 1 with a friend from school and then at 3:15 heading out with a couple other kids on the road for some easy miles.
I’ll tell you what, Bryant really stresses teamwork. Out of the 5 classes I am taking, 4 of them I have teams with. Now out of those 4 teams, 3 of them require me to go off campus regularly and 2 of them require me to do actual work for companies. Its nuts. But I’m learning. I guess that’s why I’m here. I guess I did do something.
Watch the LOVE CORNER
Paul didn’t. Who’s Paul? Paul is a United States Postal Servive mail guy who drives a little USPS mail car/van thing. He almost T-Boned my buddy Joe and I ended up sliding up against the back wheel of his mail van. Just a little road rash on my right elbow, knee, and hip. Nothing too bad…I think I’ll live. My bike works fine… the bar tape just got a bit chewed up. The only thing damaged is the ratchet on my right shoe. It just snapped off. I’m hoping that I can get it replaced fairly cheap.

Yesterday I rode and easy twenty miles and then ran 30 min. I hate running. No, I really hate running. Even if it’s only 30 min.
I was forced to run. It was all peer pressure. Ive been riding alot with Joe and Eric from school and they both want to do these things called triathlons… I think that they sound rediculous. You swim, bike, and then run?? Who does that? Joe is a middle distance track runner. He can run miles in like 4 min. Eric and I are 12 min mile walkers. The run consisted of Joe running circles around us.
Anyway, I can feel the run this morning. My bones ache.
Looks like a day off and a lot of studying for my final test tomorrow. The weather looks crappy anyway.
Aight. Last weekend was AWESOME: Great course, great racing, great weather, and great friends. The Cat 4 field was stacked with 98 other racers on both Saturday and Sunday. Nuts. Due to my lightning fast fingers I scored the 25th starting position which placed me in the 3rd row.
I need to learn how to start better. I’m so bad at it. I suck at clipping in fast and suck equally at sprinting from a dead stop heading up a hill. Im still blaming my new shoes. Each day I lost positions at the start… I’ve got some practicing to do. So I’d be going into the off road stuff in about 30th position and needing to work my way up… so that’s what I did. It seems like everyone settles into position way too soon because I was able to fight back and get into the top 20 right away. I usually don’t settle until the 2nd lap or so… Actually, I don’t settle at all.
On Sunday I rode a lot cleaner than on Saturday. On Sunday I was in position for a top 10 finish going into the final 2 laps. However, I think my combination of eating lots of ice cream (the love of my life) and not drinking much water the week before finally caught up with me. Both of my quads began cramping and by the last lap my right quad was seizing up and locking my leg straight. Not cool. It’s hard to defend a position when having no power… especially on this less technical course.
So I placed 14th Saturday and 17th Sunday. I’m not complaining. My goal going into the weekend was to place in the top 20. Success.
Congrats to Mr. Sandbagger who placed 2nd each day and Gary who placed 3rd and 4th. You guys are nuts.
I think that this “open mouth syndrome” thing runs in the family. Thanks to FASTshots.
I took crappy pics over the weekend. So I’m not posting them.

What an awesome weekend! In short, out of 125 racers I placed 14th on Saturday and 17th on Sunday… not too shabby. There will be a more detailed report midweek (because I know that there are tons of you who read my blog and I don’t want you all to be dissapointed).
Two tests tomorrow… gotta study!!
